The Dalat University Journal of Science has been recognized by the Council for Professorship in five more disciplinary/interdisciplinary fields
According to Decision No. 29/QD-HDGSNN dated July 10th, 2019 of the State Council for Professorship, the Dalat University Journal of Science has been recognized in five more disciplinary/interdisciplinary fields on the basis of points calculated for its papers. Thus, to date, the DLU Journal of Science has been graded and recognized by the Council for Professorship in seven disciplinary/interdisciplinary fields (Table 1).
Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary Council for Professorship
The Dalat University Journal of Science (ISSN: 0866-787X), a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary academic journal, has been published since 2011 under Journalistic License No. 689/GP-BTTTT (dated May 17th, 2010) and No. 413/GP-BTTTT (dated August 16th, 2016) of the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications. The DLU Journal of Science boasts a 30-year history of establishment and growth on the basis of the tradition and prestige of the Dalat University Announcement of Science, published in the 1980-90s. The journal publishes quarterly in three sections: Social Sciences and Humanities, Natural Sciences and Technology, and Economics and Management. The editorial board of the three sections includes 40 prestigious experts in various disciplines, including four members of the disciplinary/interdisciplinary Council for Professorship and seven members of the disciplinary/interdisciplinary scientific committees of NAFOSTED.
The Dalat University Journal of Science is one of the first six Vietnamese journals of science approved to be indexed into the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI). At present, the DLU Journal of Science is the only multidisciplinary journal of science in Vietnam that meets all three preliminary standards and 16 accreditation criteria to be accepted as an official member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Implementing the Development Strategy of Dalat University, the Journal is currently making efforts to upgrade various categories to meet the standard of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). These categories include: Content quality, format, standardization of publishing processes and policies, upgrading the Online Publishing Management System of the Journal, standardization of the use of plagiarism detection software to ensure the academic integrity of the papers, etc. The above-mentioned efforts will also improve the quality of content and format of the papers published in the Journal, upgrade the Journal to SCOPUS/ESCI standards over the period 2020-2023, and allow the indexing the Journal into the SCOPUS/ESCI citation system by 2030.
